Signs You’re in a Karmic Relationship

Posted on June 12, 2018June 12, 2018 by Mara Enid

Love can be hard. Few people doubt that. However, a karmic relationship is a love relationship that can be particularly difficult, yet it can be one of the most important relationships you will ever have.

karmic relationshipA karmic relationship is one that takes place with a member of your soul group. These are the souls that travel with you lifetime after lifetime. When you meet someone you’re destined to have a karmic relationship with, you may feel like you’ve known the person forever. You may even believe that this person is the one you will spend the rest of your life with.

If you’re intuitive, you may even know that the two of you will share an important connection. However, karmic relationships typically will not last.

The purpose of karmic relationships

Every relationship has a purpose. Karmic relationships exist to heal us and to teach us. Typically, they shine a light on our wounds and give us the opportunity to finally heal them.  Unfortunately, the healing process can be painful and karmic relationships often involve pain.

A karmic relationship always causes us to grow. Say we have a hard time setting boundaries in relationships. A karmic relationship may come along where we fall in love with someone who engages in an action that forces us to set a boundary and end the relationship. While the experience may be challenging to get through, it forces us to stretch ourselves and take a step we have not be able to successfully take in the past.

Karmic relationships typically occur between soulmates. Again, this isn’t the soulmate we’re destined to be with forever. Rather, it’s the soulmate we make a sacred contract with to help each other evolve. These are relationships that push our buttons and cause us to look closely at our beliefs and fears. They also encourage us to make changes so that we can live lives that are more in alignment with our souls.

Signs of a karmic relationship

Most of us will have a karmic relationship at one point or another. Some of us may have more than one. Here is what to look out for:

Karmic relationships tend to be intense. Some relationships are casual; that’s typically not the case with karmic relationships. With a karmic relationship, you may feel like you were brought together by fate, or by the law of attraction. These tend to be intense all-or-nothing relationships that you feel destined to be a part of. And you’d be right. Karmic relationships are a matter of destiny; they are crucial to our evolution.

Karmic relationships are typically not long-lasting. You’ve heard the saying that some relationships are for a reason, some are for a season and some are for a lifetime. Karmic relationships fail in the first category — they happen for reason, and that reason is to bring healing to your life. But once that reason has been fulfilled, the relationship typically ends.

Karmic relationships tend to highlight your harmful patterns. If you have a relationship pattern that you need to break, a karmic relationship will likely give you the opportunity. In fact, you may think you’ve dealt with a certain issue only to have it crop up again through the karmic relationship. However, this is your opportunity to rid yourself of bad habits or break the pattern for good.

Karmic relationships often precede the long-lasting relationship. Though karmic relationships tend to be among the most painful kinds of relationships you’ll have, there’s some good news. Karmic relationships often give us the opportunity to break harmful patterns. And when we break those harmful patterns, that often paves the way for us to achieve breakthroughs.

In many cases, a karmic relationship will take place right before you meet the person who does become your forever person. The lessons people learn through karmic relationships are often powerful enough to catapult the person to a relationship that is fulfilling and meant to be.
