The people you should not invite to a seance

Posted on February 10, 2016October 27, 2016 by Mara Enid

We all have loved ones who have crossed over to the other side that we would love to have a conversation with. We also all experience moments when we wish for supernatural guidance to move us along our path. A seance could help you to connect with those who are no longer in our physical world.

A seance is a session held by a group of people who get together to try to make contact with someone who has crossed over to the other side. A seance can be used to make contact with a particular person, or it can be done with no expectations as a way to make contact with anyone who may be able to come through and provide a message or guidance.

Some people use seances as a way to try to reach loved ones who have passed away. In some cases, there may be something they never got to tell them. They may want to say ‘I love you,’ or ‘I’m sorry.’ In other cases, they may simply want to open the lines of communication, or find out if their loved ones are ok.

It’s also common for people to want to use seances to contact celebrities who have passed away. The person conducting the seance may be a fan, or they may simply be curious to find out what the celebrity has to say.

If you are planning to conduct a seance, you should be mindful of who you invite to take part in this activity with you. (You can also conduct a seance, alone, on your own. The book Solitary Seance: How You Can Talk With Spirits On Your Own gives you details on how.) Those who are around you can not only impact whether you enjoy the experience, but they can impact whether you are ultimately successful or not.

So who should you not invite to your upcoming seance?

Avoid people who are cynical. If you’re a believer in the ability to make contact with the dead, you don’t want people around you who are cynical of the whole idea. They’ll be looking for reasons to discount anything that may occur. Likewise, they’ll have a closed mind, which could affect your success.

Avoid people who think it’s a big joke. The last thing you want when you’re focusing your energy on connecting with someone on the other side is to hear someone break out with a giant laugh. You want people who are respectful of the process and take it seriously.

Avoid people who think they have special knowledge you don’t have. While mediums may be more experienced when it comes to communicating with those who have passed away, anyone has the potential to experience success in a seance. Don’t let someone convince you that they have the inside track on conducting a seance and keep an open mind that you can experience the connection you’re looking for through the process.
