Maybe it’s the beauty of the Fall season, but I’ve been fascinated by colors lately — particularly the ways that they can convey psychic ability. Colors have always played a role in my intuitive life. They even warned me about people I should stay away from.
Years ago I started noticing that I would see the color brown in my mind’s eye when I would be around certain people. Along with the flash of color came a feeling of prickliness, almost like the nerves in my skin were being pricked by a porcupine.
It took me years to realize that every time it happened, the person turned out to be someone I should not have trusted. Eventually, I learned to be wary of who I was speaking to whenever I saw what I called ‘the brown.’

I would see the brown around people in all kinds of situations. I saw it once with a guy I had recently started dating and shortly after I picked up so many red flags about him that I quickly stopped seeing him. I saw it with a co-worker who tried to take credit for my work. I saw it with strangers at times — people I would meet through friends or relatives and who I didn’t have any reason to interact with at a later time.
The fact that brown was the color that represented people I shouldn’t trust wasn’t my conscious choice. I had nothing against the color brown and didn’t think it meant anything negative.
But that was the way my intuition sought to get the message across. If I hadn’t kept an open mind and paid attention to what was happening whenever the color brown popped into my mind, I might not have made the connection.
Since then, my intuition has used colors to give me insight into people and situations. Here’s an exercise that I’ve used to get a better understanding of how my intuition uses colors to speak to me.
