I hear from people all the time who want to learn how to use telepathy (the act of sending and receiving thoughts from one person to another.) However, you may be surprised to find that you already have a telepathic relationship with someone, particularly if you are emotionally connected to that person.
When we spend a lot of time with someone and talk to them a lot, we often form energetic bonds with them. These bonds allow us to communicate with one another through thoughts, emotions and sensations.
Have you ever heard of the concept of cutting psychic cords? Sometimes when we break up with someone we have a hard time getting over them because those energetic bonds are still connected.
That’s not to say that you can’t learn how to better focus your telepathic abilities. After all, psychic ability is like a muscle and it can benefit from regular exercise.
If you think you may have a telepathic relationship with someone, you probably do. I always say, trust your gut. If you’re feeling something, you’re probably right. But if you’re not sure, the following signs could indicate that you already have a telepathic relationship with someone.

You think of them right before they contact you. One of the most common ways that people begin to recognize a psychic connection is when they notice that they think of someone out of the blue right before that person calls them or reaches out to them in another way. While some are quick to write that off as a coincidence, more likely you’re getting the telepathic thought that your loved one is thinking of you and preparing to reach out.
They say what you were already thinking. Have you ever had someone say the words that you were currently thinking silently in your head? You could have been at work minding your business and thinking about how the upcoming meeting was a waste of time when a co-worker sidled up to you and whispered, ‘I think that upcoming meeting is a waste of time.’ Sure, you two could simply be on the same page but there’s a good chance that person was picking up on your thoughts and mistaking them for their own.
They reach out to you right when you need them. Sometimes we’re so close to someone that they seem to always know when we need support. They may call whenever you feel very sad, or have a knack for always showing up when you’re about to get in some trouble. These people are likely so tuned into us that they can sense a shift in our thinking and our mood, and they respond accordingly. You may, in fact, have a telepathic relationship with them.
You sense when they’re being untruthful. Most of us wear masks in our day to day lives. We may smile but be miserable inside. When we have a telepathic connection with someone, we can typically see through that mask and vice-versa. We may sense that the person is feeling differently than they appear to be feeling.
Recognizing that you have a telepathic bond with someone can be exciting, particularly if it’s with a person you want to feel close to.
